What is RSS?
RSS is part of the family of XML formats. It is developed specifically for all types of sites that are updated frequently. It allows sharing information and use it on other websites or programs, known as web syndication.
This acronym is used to refer to the following standards:
- Rich Site Summary (RSS 0.91)
- RDF Site Summary (RSS 0.9 y 1.0)
- Really Simple Syndication (RSS 2.0)
Its implementation in this web allows users to instantly know the new titles available in the entire catalog, or only those related to a particular category in which the user is interested.
RSS Readers
There are multiple options for using RSS feeds. The most common is to install a program called an "aggregator" or news reader.
